There are some jobs you could never get paid enough for to actually do – then there are jobs you probably don’t get paid enough for, yet have little choice but still have to do them. I imagine the job that Margot Wolk had was in that category.

On this day in 1840, the Penny Black postage stamp was issued in the United Kingdom. It was the first official adhesive postage stamp in the world. It came into service on May 6, 1840.
Australia: New South Wales – Sydney Harbour Bridge Opened
On this day in 1932, the Sydney Harbour Bridge was opened in New South Wales, Australia. However, there was some unintended drama with the opening when Francis de Groot charged in and cut the ribbon prior to the official opening.
On this day in 1947, the German state of Prussia was removed from the map. The complex story of Prussia and Germany came to an official end with Law #46 of the Allied Control Council following the German defeat in World War II. Prussia was divided up and formed parts of other states including both East and West Germany, as well as Poland and the Soviet Union.
