Today in History: The Armenian Genocide Begins
There are many things which have some form of impact on my life, either happening to me or that influences my way of thinking and therefore flows on into my life in some form or another. Indeed there are many, many things. The Armenian genocide is one of these later events. Sure, I don’t think about it a lot, but when it comes to the forefront there is an immediate reaction as I am once again moved to disgust (among other emotions) at how not wanting to offend a nation prevents us from recognizing the barbarity of what was meted out on the Armenian population of the Ottoman Empire during World War I.
The links and video below shed more light on this terrible event.

Limited Posts for Next Week or So
The last week or so has been marked by a degree of havoc, due to illness initially and followed up with what was the equivalent of a category 1 or 2 cyclone, which crossed the coast just to the north of where I live. There has been plenty of damage, flooding and extended periods of power outages across a very wide region. What this will mean for my Blogs is that there will be very limited posts over the next week or so. Reasonably normal service will be returned as soon as that is possible.
